He's six foot tall with a large build, coming off as aloof and unsociable during first impressions. He seems difficult to get close to, but he's actually just a sincere and taciturn young man.

Almost identical to his current client, Shizuma Daiba, he takes on the unusual request to take Daiba's place as a proxy mourner.

He was cast as an extra in one of An Ooe's movies, and was captivated by her as soon as she spoke to him.

He looks like a stickler for the rules on the outside, but he's kind-hearted on the inside. He'll even offer a magnanimous smile at youthful indiscretions.
He was the doctor that attended to An Ooe, and curses how powerless he was to save her.

The priest of a small Buddhist temple in Ibaraki called Nissoji.
He follows True Pure Land Buddhism. He's mild-mannered, and has a gentle way of speaking and moving. There's always a pleasant smell coming from him.
He was invited to the memorial service as a priest, but he has no connection to the Ooe family, and isn't sure why he was chosen. He decided to come to the island to find out what the host's intentions are.

The servant hired to manage the two abandoned inns, Mikazuki and Yaegaki. He is in charge of taking care of the mourners' meals and the preparations for the memorial service, and the island's rituals.
He's always busy and can be frequently seen running around in a rush. Normally, he's more slow-moving, and he is so pure of heart, even the island butterflies are fond of him.
...He only acts frightened around Osaki, for some reason.
